Adobe has introduced a new audio feature in its Premiere Pro, aiming to streamline and expedite the editing process for users. Currently available in beta, interested Premiere Pro users can test the feature by opting for the beta version.

The new audio features in Premiere Pro's beta version include interactive fade handles on clips in the timeline, allowing editors to effortlessly click and drag to create various custom audio fades. Additionally, AI-powered audio category tagging has been introduced, automatically identifying and labeling clips with icons for dialogue, music, sound effects, or ambient noise. This enables editors to have one-click access to the most relevant tools for each type of audio.

Other enhancements include redesigned clip badges that improve visibility, making it easier to identify clips with effects, swiftly add new effects, or adjust effect settings. The waveforms, now more modern and intelligent, dynamically resize when the track height is changed. Improved clip colors contribute to enhanced visibility and facilitate audio work on the timeline.

In addition to these new audio features, Adobe will make its AI-powered Enhance Speech tool available to all Premiere Pro customers in February. This tool is capable of instantly removing unwanted noise and improving poorly recorded dialogue.

Collectively, these innovations represent a substantial update to the audio workflow in Premiere Pro, empowering editors to create videos with high-quality audio and simplifying the final mix process with fewer clicks.

Ashley Still, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Adobe Creative Cloud, emphasized the significance of sound in storytelling, stating, "Sound creates meaning and adds impact to film and video - it has the power to help tell a story, and move us in ways visuals alone cannot. We’re proud to empower filmmakers with new workflows that make editing audio more intuitive, so whether they’re new to audio or experienced pros, Premiere Pro makes it faster and easier to find the perfect tool."
